Treatment Services
Obagi Skincare Liverpool clients ask about most often starts the same way. You’ve tried everything on the high street. Serums, creams, whatever the algorithm suggested that week. The pigmentation is still there. The skin still looks tired.
That’s usually the point where medical-grade skincare comes up. Obagi skincare Liverpool is available at our clinic, and the difference is real. These are prescription-strength formulations designed to change how your skin behaves, not just how it feels.
We stock the full Obagi range at our Liverpool clinic, from Nu-Derm systems to Vitamin C serums and daily SPF.
Why Obagi Is Different From High Street Skincare
Obagi is a physician-dispensed brand. That means it’s sold through clinics rather than shops, because the active ingredients work at strengths that need proper guidance.
The brand works on a systems basis. Products are designed to work together rather than as individual purchases. That’s why buying one Obagi product on its own often disappoints people, while a full system produces visible change.
Obagi targets sun damage, hyperpigmentation, uneven tone, rough texture, fine lines, and blemish-prone skin. It’s formulated to be effective across all skin tones. The Aesthetics Table is an authorised Obagi stockist. Obagi only supplies medically qualified, trained, and approved clinics, so every product you buy from us is genuine.
Which Obagi Range Is Right for Your Skin?
Different concerns need different systems. This table is a starting point, and your consultation confirms the right choice.
| Your Concern | Recommended Obagi Range |
|---|---|
| Pigmentation and sun damage | Nu-Derm Fx System |
| Dullness and uneven tone | Obagi-C Fx or Professional-C |
| Fine lines and loss of firmness | ELASTIderm |
| Acne and congestion | CLENZIderm M.D. |
| Rough texture and ageing skin | Retinol range or SUZANOBAGIMD |
| Dehydration | Hydrate range and Daily Hydro-Drops |
| Daily protection | Sun Shield SPF 50 |
How to Choose Between Obagi Systems
Nu-Derm vs Obagi-C: Nu-Derm is the stronger option for significant pigmentation and sun damage. Obagi-C is gentler, vitamin C led, and better if you want brightening without the adjustment period.
Professional-C vs Obagi-C: Professional-C is a serum range you can add to any routine. Obagi-C is a complete system with cleanser, toner, and moisturiser.
Retinol vs Retivance: Retinol is the entry point for texture and fine lines. Retivance (SUZANOBAGIMD) is a more advanced rejuvenation formula.
ELASTIderm vs Daily Hydro Drops Eye Cream: ELASTIderm targets elasticity and firmness. Hydro Drops eye cream focuses on hydration and puffiness.
If you’re not sure, that’s what the consultation is for.

What's Inside Obagi Skincare
Obagi works because of what’s in it. These are the active ingredients doing the work across the ranges.
Hydroquinone (Nu-Derm): a prescription-strength skin lightening agent that targets stubborn pigmentation and melasma at the source.
Tretinoin (Nu-Derm): prescription vitamin A that accelerates cell turnover and improves texture.
Retinol: a gentler vitamin A found in the Retinol range and Retivance, for renewal without a prescription.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid): antioxidant protection and brightening. Professional-C offers 10%, 15%, and 20% concentrations.
Hyaluronic acid: hydration and plumping, found throughout the Hydrate range.
Salicylic acid (CLENZIderm): clears congestion and unblocks pores in acne-prone skin.
Glycolic, lactic and phytic acids: chemical exfoliants that resurface and smooth.
Niacinamide: supports the skin barrier and calms redness.
Peptides and malonic acid (ELASTIderm): support elasticity and firmness.
Zinc oxide (Sun Shield): mineral UV protection.
Obagi Nu-Derm Ingredients Explained
Nu-Derm is a system, so its ingredients work in sequence rather than individually. The system typically combines a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, blender, and SPF, with prescription-strength actives including hydroquinone and tretinoin in the full protocol.
Because these are prescription-strength, Nu-Derm requires professional assessment before use.
Obagi Facial Treatments in Liverpool
Products work best alongside professional treatment. We offer four Obagi facials at our Liverpool clinic:
- Obagi Signature Facial: Vitamin C, peptides, ELASTIderm Eye Cream, hydration and SPF
- Obagi Enrich Facial: Blue Peel Radiance exfoliation with Vitamin C for brightness
- Obagi Age Defying Facial: firmness and fine lines
- Obagi Acne Express Facial: congestion and breakouts
Who Obagi Suits, and Who It Doesn't
Obagi works well if you have pigmentation, sun damage, uneven tone, early ageing, or persistent congestion, and you’re willing to follow a routine consistently.
It may not suit you if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have very reactive or compromised skin, or want results without an adjustment period. Some Obagi systems cause dryness, flaking, or sensitivity in the early weeks. That’s expected, but it’s worth knowing before you start.
We’ll tell you honestly if Obagi isn’t right for your skin.
How to Use Obagi Skincare
Morning: cleanse, tone, vitamin C serum, moisturiser, SPF.
Evening: cleanse, tone, treatment product (retinol or prescription active), moisturiser.
Apply thinnest to thickest. Wait a minute between actives. Retinol and prescription actives go on at night only. SPF every morning without exception, even in winter.
How Long Does Obagi Take to Work?
Hydration improves within days. Texture and brightness usually shift at four to six weeks. Pigmentation takes longest, often twelve weeks or more with consistent use.
Is Obagi Worth It?
Obagi costs more than high street skincare because the actives are stronger and clinically tested. If you have pigmentation, sun damage, or ageing concerns that shop-bought products haven’t touched, it’s usually worth it. If your skin is generally healthy and you want maintenance, a simpler routine may serve you better. We’ll tell you honestly which applies.
Your Skin Consultation
Buying medical-grade skincare without guidance is how people waste money. Every recommendation we make follows an assessment.
1. Skin assessment: We look at your skin condition, concerns, and history.
2. Honest recommendation: We suggest the range that fits your concern and your routine, not the most expensive one.
3. How to use it: You’ll know exactly what to apply, when, and in what order.
4. Follow-up: We check how your skin is responding and adjust if needed.
Getting the Most From Obagi
Start slowly. Introduce actives gradually, especially retinol.
Wear SPF daily. Non-negotiable with Obagi. Active ingredients increase sun sensitivity, and pigmentation returns without protection.
Be patient. Most people see change at six to twelve weeks, not overnight.
Don’t mix brands randomly. Obagi systems are designed to work together. Adding random actives from elsewhere often causes irritation.
Expect an adjustment phase. Some dryness or flaking early on is normal with Nu-Derm and retinol.
